Master of Foreign and Regional Languages, Literature and Culture
The master's programme in English for Specific Purposes aims to educate Anglicists with an excellent command of written and spoken English, a high degree of expertise in French to English and English to French translation, an advanced understanding of linguistics, phonetics and phonology, the capacity to analyse great works of English literature, a thorough knowledge of English-speaking cultures, and a very solid grounding in English for specific purposes.

Objectives

The teaching approach is based on giving students significant exposure to research in both the M1 and M2 years.


The M2 is research focused and has three tracks:

  • "English for Specific Purposes"
  • "English-Speaking Cultures"
  • "Corpus Linguistics in ESP"

Careers

The programme prepares students for:

  • an academic career in Anglophone studies (graduates of this master's degree are advised to undertake a PhD),

PRAG positions (higher education instructors with the agrégation rather than a PhD) in English for specific purposes.
