QS 2024 thematic ranking
The results of the 2024 edition of the thematic ranking of world universities published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) were unveiled on 10 April 2024. The University of Paris-Saclay continues to rise in the rankings this year, confirming its place in the world's TOP 20 in two disciplines: 13th in Mathematics (16th in 2023) and 14th in Physics & Astronomy (17th in 2023).
Every year, the British company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) publishes its world university rankings, divided into 55 disciplines and five main areas: Arts & Humanities, Engineering & Technology, Life Sciences & Medicine, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences & Management. Université Paris-Saclay continues to progress, appearing in 27 rankings and fields in 2024 (+14 compared with 2023). Among the five fields, it maintains its place in the world TOP 20 in Natural Sciences (field including the "Agriculture & Forestry" discipline) by ranking 18th (19th in 2023) and makes significant progress in Life Sciences and Medicine, ranking 58th (102nd in 2023).
Université Paris-Saclay confirms its place in the world TOP 20 in two disciplines and appears in the TOP 50 in seven disciplines (compared with six in 2023):
- 13th in the world (2nd in France) in Mathematics (16th in 2023)
- 14th in the world (1st in France) in Physics & Astronomy (17th in 2023)
- 27th in the world (4th in France) in Statistical Studies and Operational Research (41st in 2023)
- 37th in the world (1st in France) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (27th in 2023)
- 38th in the world (2nd in France) in Agriculture & Forestry (26th in 2023)
- 44th in the world (2nd in France) in Computer & IS Engineering (41st in 2023)
- 50th in the world (1st in France) in Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering (new entry in 2024)
The University of Paris-Saclay also appears for the first time in the world TOP 100 for seven additional disciplines:
- 1-100th in the world (4th in France) in Earth and Marine Sciences (new entry in 2024)
- 51-100th in the world (2nd in France) in Civil Engineering (new entry in 2024)
- 53rd in the world (1st in France) in Materials Science (59th in 2023)
- 60th in the world (2nd in France) in Biological Sciences (85th in 2023)
- 67th in the world (2nd in France) in Pharmacy & Pharmacology (55th in 2023)
- 75th in the world (3rd in France) in Chemistry (77th in 2023)
- 93rd in the world (2nd in France) in Chemical Engineering (new entry in 2024)
A multidisciplinary university, Université Paris-Saclay is also recognised in the rankings for its medical sciences, ranked 102nd this year (58th in the Life Sciences and Medicine field), as well as for its social science disciplines, ranked 147th in Economics and 151-200th in Law.
