Abstract

QUANTUMotion is a performance combining dance, music and quantum physics, which aims to create a "poetry of electron movement".

It is the result of a collaboration between the choreographer Émilie Ferreira Saramago (Ly Em) and the physicist and director of research at the CNRS, Takis Kontos.

The great singularity of this hybrid between dance and quantum physics is that it is the result of a long process of questioning, in the laboratory and then on stage, notions that have a precise meaning in the vocabulary of both science and choreography.
QUANTUMotion can be described as a dance/quantum physics dictionary embodied by the dancers and musicians, each word of which is both an object of research and creation, and whose invisible weave forms the architecture of the show.
For the spectator, there is no need for a dictionary: entanglements, correlations and entanglements, periodic movements and transpositions from the micro to the macro form a fascinating experience of paradoxical diving into the quantum universe.

QUANTUMotion is the result of a workshop and a research-creation residency carried out in close association with Takis Kontos, research director at the CNRS, physicist at the Pierre Aigrain Laboratory (LPA) in the Physics Department of the École normale supérieure in Paris, with the support of the SirTeQ/Laboratoires Qutip.
