Programme

Modules, teachers and duration

This high-level course offers theoretical and practical teaching in the form of courses and workshops (approximately 390 hours) that can be completed by internships. The schooling takes place over two semesters (from the beginning of October to the end of September of the following year).

Theoretical courses include several modules: history and aesthetics of the genre, audiovisual law, knowledge of collections and document research, audiovisual production and documentary markets, methodology of the oral interview, etc.

Practical courses and workshops (image and sound capture and editing, design and production of documentaries for the digital environment) enable students to produce linear or interactive documentaries.

The courses are complemented by master classes at SCAM (documentary screenings followed by meetings with the director) and professional meetings (broadcasting day, documentary festivals such as Fipadoc or Cinéma du réel).

The courses and workshops take place from October to June. They are held at the INA in Bry-sur-Marne, which allows students to work with professional equipment and to take advantage of synergies with students from other courses offered by INAsup (editing, production, etc.).

Schooling is incompatible with other commitments. Students are therefore expected to follow the programme full-time.
