Created in 2007, the L'Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents France for Women in Science programme is committed to supporting the involvement of young women in scientific research. The programme identifies and rewards brilliant young women researchers in the fields of life and environmental sciences, materials sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering and technology.
To date, 335 grants have been awarded to young doctoral and post-doctoral students - in metropolitan France and in overseas regions - for the excellence of their academic level, the originality of their scientific project, but also their willingness to transmit their passion to the younger generation.
Eligibility criteria
This grant is open to doctoral and post-doctoral students of any nationality, working in a research laboratory or enrolled in a doctoral school in mainland France or in the French overseas territories.
- For doctoral students: be at least in the second year of their thesis.
- For post-doctoral students: have defended their thesis less than 5 years ago - Disciplines: life and environmental sciences, material sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering and technology sciences.
35 endowments
In 2022, the L'Oréal Foundation will award 35 grants in France.
At least 5 of these endowments will be dedicated to women researchers carrying out their research work in the French overseas territories.
- 15,000 € each to doctoral students
- 20 000 € each to post-doctoral students.
