Encounter : Homogenitus
Equipped with a real cloud-making machine, researcher and artist Marie-Julie Bourgeois questions our ability to solve climate change through technology.
In this interactive show, you will find an engineering start-up, an environmental protest movement, and we assure you that everything will fit from 1 to 2 pm!

Abstract
Homogenitus are artificial clouds generated by human activities. In the face of global warming, the controversial technologies of solar geoengineering propose to produce artificial clouds to reduce the greenhouse effect. On the borderline between art, speculative design and the science of climate manipulation, the project ironically proposes several productions that aim to fuel the debate; from the creation of a fictitious start-up to the production of clouds by the audience.
The workshop is directed by Marie-Julie Bourgeois, artist and teacher-researcher at the RASM-CHCSC Laboratory of the University of Evry, at the CondéDesignLab research laboratory, and in collaboration with the Design Research Centre of the ENS Paris-Saclay-ENSCI Les Ateliers. The project is supported by the call for research-creation projects of the Laboratoire Systèmes et Ingénierie du Plateau de Saclay / LaSIPS.
