Industrial collaborations

The School collaborates closely with industry, conducting high-level research programmes in joint laboratories with companies in the aeronautics, aerospace, energy, automotive, and IT sectors.

We have developed close, long-term relationships with our industrial partners.
Numerous collaborations enrich our laboratories’ constant focus on questions regarding innovation.

Partnerships

Special partnerships have been developed with major industrial groups such as:

Dassault, Thalès, Airbus Group, Renault, PSA, Valéo, Safran, EDF, ST Microelectronics, Freyssinet, Saint-Gobain, Atos, Hewlett-Packard and Deloitte Conseil.

Collaboration takes several different forms:

  • research programmes,
  • teaching Chairs,
  • PhD agreements,
  • internships for our students.

The School is involved in several projects that foster innovation.

SOFIA

Solutions for Industrial Metal Additive Manufacturing is an applied research programme that covers the entire value chain of metal additive manufacturing, including powders, production equipment, matter-energy interactions and processes.
Alongside ENS Paris-Saclay, the six-year project brings together industrial partners through the Fives Michelin Additive Solutions joint venture; academic partners through CNRS; and several higher education and research institutions: Centrale Supelec, Centrale Nantes, Ecole Polytechnique, Université Paris Diderot, Université Paris-Sud and Université Pierre et Marie Curie.
The first technological components could be in machines and on the market by 2018.

ANR Cyanospray

This project exploits research conducted in the PPSM laboratory on tetrazines with the development of the LumicyanoTM fingerprint detector. The ANR Cyanospray consortium will develop new operational solutions for the police in the field of fingerprint detection. The consortium includes two academic laboratories: ENS Paris-Saclay's PPSM and LCMCP, which is run jointly by Université Pierre et Marie Curie and the Collège de France.

Industrial Data Analytics & Machine Learning Chair

ENS Paris-Saclay, the Atos Group and CEA have teamed up to create this unique Chair in the aim of cultivating a data science sector in France. Its mission is to develop professional expertise and technologies in industrial data analysis, in response to key industrial and societal challenges. The Chair offers exceptional graduate study opportunities and supports R & D work on data analytics and processing solutions with start-ups and SMEs in the sector.

Joint laboratory Thales Research & Technology and Aimé Cotton Laboratory

ENS Paris-Saclay, Université Paris-Saclay and CNRS are all involved in this laboratory, which focuses on the optical processing of analogue signals and sensors.

CORAC (Council for Civil Aeronautics Research)

This research project is part of an Investments for the Future programme that has 48 partners working with AIRBUS to design the aircraft of the future.
The purpose of the PREMICES programme is to work out the optimal dimensioning of on board energy chains (installed capacity/average power consumption), with a view to a new generation of "all-electric" aircraft.
