A theater on the Plateau de Saclay

La Scène de Recherche is a 160-seat modular performance hall on the Saclay plateau, at the heart of ENS Paris-Saclay.
It offers cutting-edge cultural programming exploring social and scientific themes: ecology, artificial intelligence, gender, new technologies, agro-industry...
It enables artists to exchange ideas and work with researchers to enrich each other's work and open up new perspectives.
For the 23/24 and 25/26 seasons, three artists are associated with the Scène de recherche: Charlotte Lagrange, Vincent de Lavenère and Julie Timmerman.

Located in a state-of-the-art university environment, it runs the ARRC (Année de Recherche en Recherche-Création) training program and offers various workshops for students and staff of the Université Paris-Saclay throughout the season.

This theater is a happy Tower of Babel. Several languages are spoken here, and there are attempts at cross-disciplinary confrontations, translations and passages between the performing arts and the sciences.

A theater on the Plateau de Saclay

"This theater is a happy Tower of Babel, where several languages are spoken, where confrontations between disciplines, translations and passages between the performing arts and the sciences are attempted, where we can see far ahead and consider the great questions of our time from a different angle. Here, fiction meets sound, bodies, images and materials to better understand and feel the subjects that torment and fascinate us.

This season explores three themes: Openings - Earth! - Deceit and TurbineIn each of these sequences, works of research dialogue with shows for the general public, like so many different ways of approaching these interrogations. For this Tower of Babel is not an ivory tower. Its doors are wide open. This theater is a place of instruction and pleasure at the service of all of you.

Together, professional and amateur artists, scientists, staff, students and residents who make up the diverse people of the Plateau de Saclay, let's build this open, unique and exciting place !"
