Combating gender-based and sexual violence (VSS)

ENS Paris-Saclay is committed to the fight against sexual and gender-based violence. As such, the School has a duty to inform and raise awareness, but also to receive and listen to any victims or witnesses, and to put a stop to any prohibited conduct.

VSS 2023 survey feedback online

A questionnaire was put online from March 22 to April 4, 2023. The aim was to assess the situation regarding SGBV at the School for both the student population and staff, as witnesses and/or victims.
Nathalie CARRASCO, President of the École, and Claire LAMBARD, Equality Officer, held a webinar on the results of the VSS survey on Tuesday July 4, 2023, during which they also presented the anti-VSS action plan that was adopted following the survey.

VSS control device

The VSS Copil was created in 2022 and meets at least twice a year to define the School's policy on VSS and the actions to be implemented.
Its missions include:

  • The organization of the training and awareness-raising plan on SSV for the entire School community;
  • Operation of the VSS listening and handling system;
  • Coordination of communication initiatives to combat SGB;
  • Coordination of various events dedicated to the fight against SGB;
  • Representatives of all categories of users of the School take part in the VSS Copil, as they are concerned by its actions and their implementation (staff, students, representatives of administrative services, Presidency).

The School also has a listening unit and a VSS processing unit.
The listening unit is made up of :

All ENS Paris-Saclay staff and students who are presumed victims or witnesses of violence against women are free to contact the member of the listening and support unit of their choice.

If the report so requires, the equality officer will refer the matter to the VSS unit, which is made up of representatives of the various user statuses.
